Steel matches are held on the 1st Saturday of the month.

As of Jan 2018,   the Hernando Sportsman’s Club is now an official affiliated Steel Challenge Club! Our club # is SCSA247.

Our monthly matches consist of a minimum of 4 classifier stages.  This allows a shooter to become classified by shooting just one of our regular monthly matches.

Steel Challenge consists of 8 nationally recognized stages.  Each stage has a 5-target array of steel plates that are engaged by each shooter, for five consecutive timed runs. The best 4 out of 5 timed runs of each stage are totaled for the shooter’s score. The lowest overall time in each class wins.

Competition schedule:

Registration begins at 8:15 am; Safety Briefing at 9:00 am

Shooters must attend the Safety Briefing to be eligible to shoot.

Match entry fee is $11 for club members, and $16 for nonmembers for one gun only.

Pre-registering is highly recommended at www.matchsignup.org .

Match classes include Centerfire handguns, Rimfire handguns and rifles, and PCC (pistol caliber carbines).

Shooting the match: Rimfire Handguns and Rifles and Pistol Caliber Carbines begin from the low ready position. Centerfire handguns will be drawn from an approved outside the belt holster.

Bring at least 200 rounds of ammo for the match.
